BUFFALO, NY: Buffalo St. Patrick's Day Parade will occur Sunday, March 19, 2017 down Delaware Avenue @ 2 PM According
to the United Irish American Association website "Mass will be
celebrated by Biship Tichard J. Malone at Saint Joseph's Cathedral on
Sunday, March 19th at 10:30AM before the line up for the Saint Patrick's
Day Parade.
History of Saint Patrick's Day: There are different accounts of Saint Patrick's death. One source states that Saint Patrick may have pasted on in Saul, Ireland on March 17th in 460 AD His jawbone was preserved as a religious relic and is requested involving childbirth.
Another source states that the saint was buried in Glastonbury, England. The Chapel of St. Patrick still exists as part of Glastonbury Abbey.Today, many Catholic places of worship all around the world are named after St. Patrick, including cathedrals in New York and Dublin city. A toast for St Patrick’s Day, “May the roof above us never fall in, and may we friends beneath it never fall out.”
This is a religious holiday and the day, in some cases start with mass, with preyers for missionaries. There are over 300 St./ Patrick's day parades worldwide.
